Chase $10,000 worth of cloud hosting from Newark-based HostMySite and Microsoft for your tech startup by showing off why you’re worthy of the grand prize in the new Light Up the Cloud Sweepstakes.
“Our goal with this contest is to give some interesting projects an extra boost in the all-important launch phase,” said HostMySite President John Enright in a release.
It’s also an effort to bring more awareness to the company’s hosting services to growing firms and to show off its new partnership with Microsoft to use its Windows Azure user interface.
Until Aug. 26, entrepreneurs and developers will be able to submit a company photo, short description of their business, project or application, and how they would use the $10,000 in free hosting services for a chance to win the grand prize.
HostMySite and Microsoft representatives will pick a different winner each week for eight weeks based on the entries they receive that week — the first winner was Florida-based e-Lawyer.com. Each weekly winner will receive a Microsoft Surface 2 while all eight winners will be eligible to win the $10,000 worth of cloud hosting from HostMySite at the end of the competition.
“We’ve never done a contest like this before — so it’s very exciting for us,” said HostMySite marketing manager Gaby Indellini (née Gaby Wilson, for those who know her from Delaware Startup Weekends).
“Our cloud hosting products are designed with the needs of small and medium sized businesses in mind,” said Indellini.
