Full disclosure: Capital One, Flatiron School, Virginia Tech and Aquicore are sponsors of NET/WORK DC.

NET/WORK takes the tedious, time-consuming, nerve-wracking parts out of job hunting and opts for a simpler method: Show up, connect with awesome companies, walk away with an offer. Easy enough, right?

To make the experience that much more straightforward, we’ve even highlighted a few of the hiring companies joining us on March 27. Print your resume and grab a cup of coffee. Here’s a look at a few companies you’ll want to meet.

When it comes to D.C. real estate, Aquicore knows the industry in and out. This innovative all-in-one real estate operations and performance optimization platform is changing the way some of D.C.’s best properties are run. If you want a career that’s leading tech in its industry, here it is:

“Aquicore’s cloud-based platform tracks, analyzes and predicts key building performance factors in real time to unlock portfolio-grade actionable insights, streamlining overall business operations and increasing property value and operating incomes,” said Cy Movaghari, senior talent manager for Aquicore.

Aquicore is used by more than 700 office buildings nationwide. Some of the company’s most notable clients include the John Hancock Tower, the National Press Building, NASCAR Plaza, Under Armour and the World Bank.

Currently, Aquicore is looking for account executives, data scientists, product managers and customer success managers.

Capital One

Sometimes as an engineer, it can be frustrating to predict what your final product will be or how it will impact customers on the other end. That’s where a gig at Capital One is different.

As a member of the retail and direct technology team, you’ll be engineering solutions that directly impact customers. Think: improving upload time on Capital One deposits, innovating the UX on ATMs, troubleshooting online servicing, or even improving the customer experience at cafes and call centers.

“Innovation is the competition and we need to stay ahead of it,” said Kristen Kofler, talent acquisition at Capital One. “We’re not like other banks and far more than a credit card company — as a fintech organization, we are agile and have the freedom to fail.”

Flatiron School

Although they aren’t necessarily hiring, the Flatiron School is a must-stop on the NET/WORK DC list. The newly opened D.C. campus has some major opportunities for career changes as well as seasoned professionals.

The Data Science Fellowship is new to D.C. and offers a 15-week intensive course for $0. If that’s not sweet enough, their partnership with SeatGeek is offering up to $200,000 in scholarships for women in pursuit of a tech education. Deadlines are fast-approaching (March 31) so stop by their booth with questions and resumes before you submit!

Virginia Tech

To bring innovation, you can never afford to stop learning. And, from new-age boot camps to established universities, there is no shortage of options when it comes to continuing your education in tech. A program like Virginia Tech’s Online Master of Information Technology allows working professionals to have flexible hours outside of a traditional classroom — and this program is ranked No. 3 by U.S. News and World Report.

So, whether your resume is ready, or you’re looking for ways to polish it up, RSVP for your spot to NET/WORK DC by clicking below.
