PowerUp Reentry: A Digital Solutions Day is a three-day hackathon that aims to help break the cycle of recidivism.
Put forth by the Reentry Project — an alliance of 15 newsrooms including our sister site, Generocity — the hackathon looks to find digital, cross-sector solutions to help keep formerly incarcerated people from returning to the system.
Otherwise known as a “hackathon,” digital solutions day brings together communities that may otherwise not interact: https://t.co/IoYGnAMXoj

Happening Oct. 20-21 at Center City’s Industrious, the event is produced by Code for Philly. The door is open for all: Journalists, technologists, City officials and formerly incarcerated people can join in to help bring solutions to an issue often overlooked.
RSVPFor those wary of entering the hackathon arena for the first time, here’s a brave, honest guide to hackathon survival from author Miriam Peskowitz.
