The winning project from the first local Baseball Hack Day helped visualize the lineups and stats of some of Major League Baseball’s most successful teams, said Tim Raybould, a baseball fan, Ticketleap COO and event judge. Other projects included a crowdsourced data collection tool tracking data on where foul balls land most commonly.
The event — a handful of participants, mostly in baseball hats, working at Old City coworking space Indy Hall — was brought here from Boston, where it started, by developer Kyle Fiedler, who moved here after participating in past events at the space. The after party was at the Everybody Hits batting cages near Northern Liberties.
Illustrator Mike Jackson will be visiting Philly Tech Week events and drawing participants to give a traditional look at new ideas. Jackson visited Baseball Hack Day.
