In case you didn’t know, Philly has a chapter of the Association for Computing Machinery’s Special Interest Group for Computer-Human Interaction, also known by the lengthy acronym of ACM SIGCHI.
The local chapter, which goes by the more succinct moniker of PhillyCHI, convenes an interdisciplinary group of academics and professionals interested in how people interact with tech. On March 28, at 6:30 p.m., the group will host a panel on designing for accessibility featuring three Philly-based experts on the matter:
- Neil McDevitt: Executive Director of the Deaf-Hearing Communication Centre
- Isabella Gong: Full Stack Developer at MOD Worldwide
- Mikey Ilagan (moderator): Accessibility Specialist at Think Company
“We’ll be looking at ways people can design that’s inclusive of everyone and how disabilities shape how people interact with digital experiences,” Ilagan told Technical.ly. “The event isn’t just for designers but for everyone.”
