If you or someone you know is considering a career change, reskilling may be a good first step.
One option to consider is coding bootcamps, short-term, intensive tech training programs that teach tech skills without having to go through (or pay for) a multi-year degree program.
After a surge during the 2010s, bootcamps have declined somewhat in popularity over the last half-decade. Still, many smaller programs continue to thrive, especially those run by nonprofits.
These programs can range in topic, length, format and cost. Some prepare you for a very specific role, while others offer a wide variety of skills. Factors to consider when deciding whether a bootcamp is right for you include what support you’ll have or need beyond the course itself, and what you hope to accomplish after it’s completed.
Here are 10+ coding bootcamps with Philadelphia locations or ties. This list is geared toward people aged 18 and up, but check out the Philadelphia STEM programming Directory if you’re interested in finding tech education programs for young adults and children.
This list is an update of our 2024 bootcamp guide. Have a suggestion we should add? Reach out to philly@technical.ly.
