Black Girl Ventures, the event series that’s part pitch competition, part crowdfunding campaign for Black and brown women entrepreneurs, is currently hiring for multiple positions, including a social media manager and content creator.

If you’re interested in the social media manager position, you should be prepared to build and manage BGV’s social channels, run campaigns and engage in discussions online. The content creator will be responsible for creating two digital resources each month, managing BGV’s blog and and contribute to long-form content. For both of those roles, interested candidates should possess at least two years of relevant work experience and preference will be given to those who have a bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, public relations or business administration.

BGV has expanded to more markets since being launched by prominent social entrepreneur Shelly Bell in 2016. Earlier this week, Bell appeared on the latest episode of The TWIJ ShowTechnical.ly’s weekly interview series on building better companies, discussing this longstanding priority: how to grow a parent-friendly workplace.

MemoryWell is looking to add a chief growth officer to its team. The person in this role will help the company create a sales process, update its pricing and manage marketing efforts. Candidates should bring five or more years of relevant experience.

Four-year-old MemoryWell manages a network of professional journalists who interview seniors and their families through to publish stories, photos, music and video that are archived on the company’s mobile responsive web platform. At the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, the company began offering free tools for families to create digital history projects. It was recently hiring for a new finance and operations director, too.

Arlington, Virginia-based digital media company Axios has 12 open positions in the D.C. area and remote. The four-year-old company is looking to hire for roles such as VP of communications, principal information security engineer, senior director of sales, senior mobile engineer and director of information security.

Axios’ 200-ish workers receive perks like equity and a commuter and cell phone benefit — and in June, we reported that the company was also paying medical bills and bail for its employees who protest. A majority of the company’s job listings require relevant experience as opposed to degree requirements.
