The Delaware Art Museum on Kentmere Parkway in Wilmington is currently open to the public, with COVID-19 health and safety procedures in place.
Some more good news, if you’re in the midst of a job search and have culture on the brain: During a time when more than 62,000 arts and culture staffers have been laid off in the U.S., the museum currently has a few positions open, aiming for different skillsets.
If you’re tech savvy, like customer service and are passionate about the arts — and are looking for a part-time gig — the museum associate position might be up your alley. The position includes greeting guests, processing tickets and maintaining the museum store. Hours will vary depending upon the week and will include weekends and all Thursday evenings.
If you have experience in major individual gift fundraising, the full-time director of advancement position includes managing annual and special grants to the museum and managing a corporate advisory committee. Some travel will be required when COVID-19 restrictions are lifted, and your schedule should be flexible enough to work some evenings and weekends.
In addition, two fellowships for graduate students or scholars are available: the Alfred Appel, Jr. Curatorial Fellowship and the Amy P. Goldman Fellowship in Pre-Raphaelite Studies.
As always, you can find art-related opportunities — from jobs to grants — on the Delaware Division of the Arts’ website.
