Delaware is a mecca for skimboarding — the Southern Delaware coast is known for its sometimes dangerous shorebreak (i.e: waves that don’t break until they hit the beach) — which means it’s perfect for gliding and performing air maneuvers.
The Zap Pro/Am World Championship of Skimboarding returned to Dewey Beach from August 9 to 11, in tandem with the beaches-wide Summer Vibes Fest.

Skimboarders came from all over the world, but local competitors, including some of the top youth skimmers, were a focus, too.

Art was also part of the festivities, including “The Art of Skim” silent auction featuring one-of-a-kind boards painted by local artists.
Project Kudos brought its positive attitude to Summer Vibes Fest.
