Local advocate Gloria Bell joins AnitaB.org

Keeping in line with her passion for connecting women in technology, Women in Tech Summit founder Gloria Bell is the new head of pathways and communities at AnitaB.org.

“I will be working with the membership and workforce development teams helping this great organization with their work connecting, inspiring and guiding women and non-binary individuals in technology,” Bell wrote on LinkedIn

Nonprofit AnitaB.org, named after computer scientist Anita Borg, connects and supports women and non-binary people in the technology industry. The org’s annual conference, the Grace Hopper Celebration, will be hosted in Philly this month.

Bell also chairs the board for startup supporter Philly Startup Leaders, which has been working with AnitaB.org in preparation for the conference.

ImpactPHL welcomes new CEO with government, bank experience

ImpactPHL, a nonprofit that connects people and organizations to values-based investing opportunities, hired Kafi Lindsay as its first CEO.

Cory Donovan was previously ImpactPHL’s executive director, but the org chose to replace the role with a CEO. Donovan, who is a cofounder, is still in leadership as senior vice president of community engagement.

Lindsay was previously the director of the city’s Office of Strategic Partnerships and before that the president of Impact Strategies and Solutions Group. She has experience working for city government and private banks, having previously worked on community-focused investment projects.

“The ability of impact investments to drive meaningful progress is transformative,” Lindsay said. “I am excited to build on this momentum, strengthen our connections with the community and key investment opportunities and spearhead further growth and innovation to create a more vibrant and equitable future for the region.”

Founded in 2016, ImpactPHL works with investment funds, family offices and high-wealth individuals to help them identify investment opportunities that align with their values.

Executive director leaves GreenLight Philadelphia

Felicia Rinier announced she would be leaving GreenLight Philadelphia this fall after leading the org for the last three years. She will be joining the philanthropy team at Comcast, she said in her announcement.

GreenLight Philadelphia is the local arm of the national GreenLight Fund, which provides funding to nonprofits. The org was founded in Boston in 2004 and expanded to Philadelphia in 2012.

During her tenure, GreenLight Philadelphia supported tech workforce development org Hopeworks and the Fountain Fund, which provides low-interest loans and financial coaching to people who were formerly incarcerated.

“I loved ‘borrowing’ the Philly site for the last three years,” Rinier said, “and feel confident that as I hand it over to the next leader, I’m leaving the site in an even stronger place, poised to continue delivering positive change to the Philadelphia community.”
