Greetings to the most punnable month of the year.

Editor’s note: Every week we ship an email newsletter featuring the region’s most exciting career opportunities. We’ve lovingly called it This Week in Jobs (aka TWIJ — “twidge”). Below is this week’s edition; it’s meant to live in your inbox. Sign up for the newsletter here.

Memes are forever

If you’re a tried and true internet consumer, you’ve seen a plethora of “It’s gonna be May” memes, featuring N*SYNC-era Justin Timberlake and his frosted tips. We’ll go out on a limb here and say it may be time to broaden our punny horizons. We suggest adding a Britney Spears-focused “Just so typically May” gif to the roster. Or perhaps an Evanescence-themed “Save May,” a spin-off of the group’s classic “Bring Me to Life” track. Can’t leave out “May the 4th be with you” for all you Star Wars nerds.

No matter what flavor of May memes tickles your funny bone, let this month be the one that shoots you into the next stratosphere of your career. Oh, and if you keep readin’, we may just have the right stuff to get you there.

The News AND The Jobs

You’ve got a bit of homework this week. PROMISE it’s fun. All you have to do is sign up for our annual Developers Conference next Tuesday, May 11, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. It’s part of the 11th annual Philly Tech Week presented by Comcast — kicking off this Friday, May 7, with a virtual networking event and including our other signature conference, May 13’s Introduced by Technical.ly, focused on building better companies.

What makes it easy for you? The event is totally virtual, so the commute isn’t half-bad. Plus, for the first time ever, it’s 100% free. Our goal is to get as many curious, forward-thinking technologists in a virtual room as possible — so you can network with them.

Professional development is built into the day with eight presentations that follow three main themes: Experimentation, At Scale and Growth. Expect in-depth case studies from folks at Vanguard, Comcast and URBN.

There’s also time to network and a lunchtime job fair where you can connect with these employers:

This daylong conference has something for everyone, no matter whether you’re actively seeking a new gig or happily situated. We dare you to register, show up and learn a bunch of new things.

The End

We’ll see you next week. But for now, bye, bye, bye!
