So what, if anything, can job-seekers learn from this momentous social media occasion? Not a ton, actually, but let’s see if we can get creative. Ah, here’s a good one: Give the people what they want.
In terms of your quest for a new career, make sure you are providing hiring managers with information that shows them the full picture of why you are a good fit for the role — especially if you’re in a career transition. Connect the dots for them. Offer colorful insight into who you are in and outside of the office. Working on any interesting side projects? Volunteering for a cause you’re passionate about? Taking any trainings or courses to add to or improve upon your skills? Add those babies to your cover letter, resume, website, LinkedIn — all of it.
It’s totally what Jen would do. Probably. There’s no way to actually know.
