Rain could not stop Super Meetup 2018

A photo recap of Philly's premier late-summer networking event — plus another event this week you won't want to miss.

The weatherman pulled a fast one on us there: the forecast did not hold and early-evening showers on Tuesday, Sept. 25 scared off some attendees of Philly’s premier late-summer networking event.

But that did not mean that the tech faithful did not show up in droves for Super Meetup 2018 at Uptown Beer Garden. The clouds soon parted and 300 members of the local tech community were able to mingle with fellow technologists and a bevy of companies looking to hire.

One company even used the downpour to bust out some weather-appropriate swag:

As the free beer flowed (thanks to drink sponsor WebLinc), attendees began to make the rounds:

“Loved, it, and the rain made it all the better,” attendee Jim Shulman wrote after the event. “I’ve found that when there’s some weather impediment to an event often the conversations (and business) are even better, since the people who are most serious about doing business manage to show up.”

If you’re looking to show up to another Technical.ly shindig meant to help you land new opportunities, you’re gonna wanna check out NET/WORK Suburbs 2018. The event — going down this Wednesday, Oct. 17 at Turn5 HQ in Paoli, Pa. — is not your typical job fair.
