Catch a demo of Tern Water’s smart faucet at #HealthyPhilly

The Pennovation-based startup is hosting an event next Thursday on healthy living and sustainability.

Tern Water’s long-awaited flagship product — a smart faucet that tracks usage and quality in real time — is expected to be made available to the public in September, after being under development since 2014.

In the meantime, those looking to get an early peek at the technology can head to Pennovation on Thursday, where the startup founded by Drexel engineer Mohamed Zerban will be demoing the app-coupled faucet during an event they’ve dubbed #HealthyPhilly.

The event will also feature a conversation with Scott Mazo, founder and CEO of real estate developer University Place Associates, who will share his company’s approach to sustainable building. The firm, known for developing the 98,000-square-foot University Place 2.0 building on West Philly’s Powelton Avenue, has two more projects underway and boasts of engineering them under LEED Platinum sustainability standards.
