Azavea is a Technically Talent client.

We wouldn’t blame you for thinking you needed experience with GIS if you wanted to work for Azavea, but that’s just not the case.

Before joining the company, “I didn’t even really know which direction north was,” software engineer Alice Rottersman told us, laughing. What’s important is a willingness to learn.

As part of a new feature for Technically Talent, we’re testing out narrative job listings. Our first is for a software engineer opening on Azavea’s geospatial insights team. We talked to Rottersman and software engineer Derek Dohler about what would make someone the right fit for Azavea.
