The Philadelphia Department of Commerce is searching for a new liaison with the tech community but, in the mean time, it’s also trying to spread the word on its services and resources with a secret weapon: caffeine.

“Coffee and Commerce” is an event series that hopes to engage with entrepreneurs and connect them to the city’s resources. The next one is happening Aug. 24 at North Philly’s Community Legal Services.

“We create a casual ‘office-hours’–type space — with complementary coffee and pastries — for entrepreneurs to visit us in their neighborhood commercial corridor,” said Jihae Lee, a manager at the city’s Office of Business Services.

No need to RSVP: those interested in the program can just drop and bring their questions.
