Cool talk alert: Learn how to score SBIR grant money

For companies in the tech space like SmartyPal or Baltimore’s SilcsBio, getting a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant can give product development and research a significant jolt.

On July 27, some reps from federal agencies are coming to town for a workshop at Villanova University on funding opportunities for scientific research.

At the free workshop, companies will get to hear from April Richards, SBIR Program Director at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency; Chris O’Gwin, SBIR/STTR Program Manager for the U.S. Department of Energy; and Charles Cleland, SBIR Program Coordinator at the U.S. Department of Agriculture on existing opportunities for startups with under 500 employees.
