The huge gender gap in the venture capital space has long since been documented.

Most recently in Philadelphia by Inquirer reporter Diane Mastrull, who found herself in a room full of men at the 19th edition of the Angel Venture Fair. But progress is being made, Robin Hood Ventures’ Ellen Weber told the reporter.

That’s why it’s kind of cool to see that Dreamit’s Chief Investment Officer, Karen Griffith Gryga, will be taking the mic on May 31 to talk about entrepreneurship, leadership and the remunerative secrets of the VC world. Griffith Gryga, who started her career as a software developer, has two decades’ worth of experience in the realm of entrepreneurship and venture capital.

As part of Startup Grind, the investor will give a fireside chat with Benjamin’s Desk co-CEO Jennifer Maher in the interviewer’s seat.

“Karen has such a broad and diverse knowledge base that everyone will benefit from her expertise, but given her personal experience and Dreamit Athena it will be especially beneficial for female entrepreneurs and founders,” Maher said of the event, which is happening at the coworking center’s 1608 Walnut St. location.
