Arcweb just doubled its Old City office space

CEO Chris Cera credits the healthcare space for the company's growth spurt.
The company went from 3,000 square feet to 6,000.

Old City-based design firm Arcweb Technologies used to lease half the fifth floor of the building at 234 Market Street. It has a spiffy paper-cut mural by artist Sean Martorana, too.

But since things were getting kinda cramped for the team of 35, and because moving to a new space is a hassle, the company took over the remaining half of the floor, taking its real estate footprint from 3,000 square feet to 6,000.

“We outgrew our space about a year ago, and we continue to hire more engineers, designers and account executives,” said CEO Chris Cera. “It’s definitely the most ideal outcome for us to expand the space without the disruption of moving.”

The building is also the home of PR firm Slice Communications, Cubist Media Group and architecture firm MGA Partners. It used to house Artisan Mobile.

“We have been growing steadily the past several years,” said Cera. “Lately the healthcare market has been the largest contributor.”

Last year, Arcweb got its first-ever inclusion on the Inc. 5000 List, coming in at No. 290 at a self-reported growth of 1,354 percent.

In a tweet announcing the expansion, the exec didn’t just chalk the company’s expansion up to the healthcare space but to Philly itself.

“Props to the city that lifts us up everyday,” Cera wrote.
