Though we all know her as one of our city’s most visible tech cheerleader, Philly Startup Leaders’ coordinator Yuval Yarden —who was born in Israel —has also been very active in Jewish community.
And now this summer, she’ll be combining two of her passions by leading a tech-focused Birthright trip alongside 40 other Jews to visit the Middle Eastern nation and explore its tech ecosystem.
“These themed trips are really important because they engage a new section of the Jewish population who might not be interested in Israel for religious or political reasons,” said Yarden. “With all the negative stigmas around Israel, showing people that it isn’t a war torn desert country, but a growing country with a vibrant tech community, is really important.”
The trip, fully funded by Birthright Israel, is titled “Innovation Nation” on the program’s website and departs from New York on June 11th.
