Online media outlet MyNEWPhilly scores promo deal with Comcast

The North Philly company will get a shoutout on the Xfinity.com home screen.

North Philly-based online media platform MyNEWPhilly scored an alliance with Comcast to get extra eyes on its vids: Xfinity.com will feature a rotating ad directing viewers to its video content.

Launched in July 2015, the media company has a team of 50 creators who have produced some 1,000 short-form videos (including this interview with Technical.ly cofounder Christopher Wink).

“We set out to fill a void, to eradicate the lopsided view of crime, negativity and violence as the image portrayed of the city we love,” said MyNEWPhilly founder Kyree Terrell. “We are beyond excited that our content aligned with the current initiatives and objectives of the amazing team at Comcast, and we are optimistic for what the future may hold as this relationship continues to develop.”

No financial details from the deal were immediately disclosed, but according to the company, there are more partnerships in the works between the two.
