Curious about Philly’s numbers on air quality, access to food, clean energy and other sustainability verticals?

First of all, you’re a major geek. But also, it’s your lucky day! The data is now available through the latest open data project from the City of Philadelphia: Greenworks Dashboard.

Our sister site Generocity gave a shoutout to the eight nifty accessible data sets which are available through the portal. The dashboard was built in collaboration between the Office of Open Data and Digital Transformation and the city’s Office of Sustainability.

Greenworks is a three-pronged push from the administration of Mayor Jim Kenney on the subject of sustainability:

  • Greenworks on the Ground: Guides to help residents, communities and institutions work toward each of the Greenworks visions.
  • Greenworks Dashboard: The online platform we’re talking about.
  • Greenworks Equity Index: A data-driven approach to identify communities not currently benefiting from sustainability and improve outcomes in those areas. Forthcoming in spring 2017 (we’ll keep an eye out).

“The success of Greenworks will depend on the many partners within and beyond city government who have embraced these visions and are already playing a leadership role in driving them forward,” said Christine Knapp, director of the city’s Office of Sustainability.
