Alex Kaplan left NextFab to help improve his neighborhood

He used to handle institutional relations for the makerspace network. Now he's the only employee of the South of South Neighborhood Association.

It seems like only yesterday Alex Kaplan was traipsing up and down the tech scene at Philly Tech Week 2015 as an ambassador to NextFab.
But after two years, Kaplan recently parted ways with the makerspace where he handled institutional relations. He’s now the only employee of the South of South Neighborhood Association (SOSNA)our sister site Generocity reports.
He’s not completely exiting the tech scene, though. Kaplan said he aspires to leverage some of that “innovative spirit” from the Philly tech scene to SOSNA’s benefit.
“What I want to try to bring to the table is some of the tech community potential to solve some of the civic problems,” he said. “That’d be really exciting.”
