When we spoke to Kelli Klein, Digital Director for the Democratic National Convention Committee, she said the biggest digital challenge during the Convention was making sure people got the best content from the four-day event.
To help bring more millennial eyeballs to the DNC, which is coming to Philly July 25-28, the Committee just released DNC 2016, an official Convention app built by Taqtile, a Seattle-based mobile dev shop. The app is now ready for download on Android and iOS devices.

The home button of the app is a tiny Liberty Bell, and one of the main tabs within the app is simply labeled “Philly” — where users can access updated information on venues, hotels, events and activities.
Within the local section, users can track all 57 Donkeys Around Town, find directions to the venues and see upcoming events near them.
In addition to a standard live-video feed, the app will offer 360-degree livestreams.
Updated blog posts, press releases and full copies of the speeches will be made available in real time through the mobile platform. Because there have been no speeches yet, the app currently has sample speeches from the 2012 convention.
Andrew Binns, Chief Innovation Officer for the Democratic National Convention, said the app will engage users both in and outside the Wells Fargo Center.
“With constantly updated content, social integration and a front row seat to history, our app is an essential tool both for delegates in Philly and viewers across the country,” he said.
