Phenom People, the Horsham-based recruitment startup, just raised an additional $1.6 million from Boston investors Sigma Prime.
That brings the company’s total Series A to $7.6 million. The Series A was led by Silicon Valley-based venture capital firm Sierra Ventures. More than half of Phenom People’s roughly 70-person staff is based in Hyderabad, India, like a handful of other local tech companies that base their engineering teams outside the U.S. The company plans to nearly double its staff and grow its Philly-region sales and marketing staff, said CEO Mahe Bayireddi.
