The city press corps might have noticed a familiar look to Mayor Kenney’s press announcements.
It’s MailChimp, the Atlanta-based email marketing company. (You might also know them as the company behind the ubiquitous TinyLetter and for their podcasting division, MailKimp (jk).)
It’s a nice little upgrade to Mayor Nutter’s press announcements, which were basically press releases copied and pasted into an email body, with an Word doc version attached, plus a subject line in all caps. YES, ALL CAPS.
Kenney spokeswoman Lauren Hitt said the press office wanted to improve upon that copy and paste strategy “because it was causing delays and other problems.”
“It’s cheap and easy to use,” Hitt wrote in an email.
Wonder what other kinds of new tech tools Team Kenney will adopt.
