Meet Code for Philly’s new spokesman

Based in Oregon, Corey Abramson is in charge of telling Code for Philly's civic hacking story to the world.

Just like the Philly tech scene, Code for Philly is working on its messaging.
The civic hacking group just added another member to its executive team: a communications specialist in charge of telling their stories to the world. His name is Corey Abramson, or “Abe,” and he does web content strategy for Penn Medicine. He also lives in Eugene, Ore.

That’s an advantage, said Abramson, 26, a native of Northeast Philly.
“Because I’m working remotely,” he wrote to us in an email, “I get to see CfP both from an inside and outside perspective. I think that will really help in telling CfP’s amazing stories in a way that is accessible both to current and prospective brigade members.”
Code for Philly’s recently-formed executive team is lead by Dawn McDougall.
It’s a smart addition to the team, since some of Code for Philly’s projects have already received national acclaim.
(We reckon the city could and should be known for civic hacking — and Code for Philly is laying the groundwork for that.)
