Mayor Nutter cut the ribbon at SEER Interactive’s jaw-dropping new office

It's been a hallmark of Nutter's time in office: welcoming tech companies big and small to their new offices. Will Mayor-elect Jim Kenney do the same?

Just two weeks before Mayor Michael Nutter leaves his post in City Hall, he stopped by SEER Interactive’s incredible new office to offer an official welcome.

In the last six months, the online marketing company took over nearly every floor of the six-story Rialto building in Northern Liberties. SEER’s 80-some local employees now occupy nearly 30,000 square feet, including a stunning event space on the top floor with views of the city skyline. Watch out for our photo tour of the space later this week.

Nutter cut the ribbon on SEER’s new space at the company’s grand opening party Tuesday night. (SEER CEO Wil Reynolds tells us Nutter never did see the Search Church, SEER’s iconic former office, just a short walk from their new space. Shame.)

During his tenure, Nutter made it a point to attend the parties of every tech company that moved into a new office: Arcweb, RJMetrics, Curalate, even the now-defunct It was one of the many ways his administration signaled that it prioritized the tech scene. Mayor-elect Jim Kenney has already made appearances at local tech companies, like Bluecadet, and events, like’s Rise Conference and Code for Philly’s sustainability hackathon. Will he also play the ribbon-cutting game?
