The local arm of the women’s tech education nonprofit turns four this year.
Among its victories:
- Helping women make career changes into tech
- Training and empowering women to join the open source community
- Cultivating technology leaders on a local and national scale, like Girl Develop It’s executive director Corinne Warnshuis, who started as a local chapter leader and now speaks at national conferences like Dreamforce and Lesbians Who Tech, and LeeAnn Kinney, who started as a student and now teaches Girl Develop It classes and organizes events like the forthcoming ELA Conf and the Women in Tech Summit.
The GDI birthday party is from 6-9 p.m. on Oct. 23 at Pipeline (30 S. 15th St.).-30-
