Meet the 10 startups in DreamIt Health’s newest class

The class, once again, has a strong showing from Penn founders. It also features two Children's Hospital of Philadelphia spinouts.

David Lindsay is studying to get his Ph.D. and M.D. as part of a rigorous, seven-year program at Penn.

He’s also one of the startup founders in the newest cohort of DreamIt Health, a health IT-focused accelerator that exchanges mentorship and $50,000 investment for 8 percent equity.

Its partners include Independence Blue Cross, Penn Medicine and DreamIt Ventures. It’s one of the flagship programs aiming to make Philly a hub for health IT.

Lindsay, 25, is the cofounder of Oncora Medical, a startup that provides analytics for radiation oncology. Penn has historically had a strong showing at DreamIt Health. Last year’s cohort featured undergrad startups Drop Diagnostics, which has since left Philly, and BioBots (which, sidebar, just got featured in Fortune in a piece by former Baltimore reporter Andrew Zaleski).

This year, at least two companies in DreamIt Health were founded by Penn students: Oncora and GraphWear Technologies, cofounded by master’s students Rajatesh Gudibande and Saurabh Radhakrishnan, who both worked with Penn spinout Graphene Frontiers.

This cohort also features two companies from the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, as part of DreamIt’s OpenCanvas program that partners with corporations and research organizations to find spinout companies.
