Kyle Stetz spoke at the first international Web Audio Conference in Paris earlier this year about his project Lissajous, a “live coding instrument.” The web audio scene is an emerging one, full of people interested in making music in the browser.
The conference, he said, made him “anxious to cultivate that kind of energy in Philly.”
That’s why Stetz, a developer at web dev firm P’unk Ave who also built Typedrummer, is launching a web audio meetup. (Other conference attendees started meetups in cities like Berlin, London and New York.) The first one is on Sunday, July 19 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at P’unk Ave.

“The goal,” he wrote, “is to create a supportive and inclusive environment that brings together folks who run the gamut from the technical to the musical.”
A musician who mostly makes music on the internet these days, Stetz is co-organizing the meetup with Steve Goldberg, who built this ’80s synthesizer for Chrome.
