Founders, here’s why you should quit being so sensitive: Rick Nucci

Your sensitivity is hurting your business, the Philly Startup Leaders president argues in a recent blog post.

Rick Nucci is a recovering sensitive founder.

You know the type, the one who gets all defensive when anyone tries to give them real feedback on their startup. But, as the Guru CEO and Philly Startup Leaders president wrote in a recent blog post, that can only be harmful to your company.

He wrote:

I get it, startups are emotional, startups are personal, startups can be all-consuming. But get over yourself. Your product almost certainly sucks in the beginning. It kind of SHOULD suck because you should be showing it to people well before it’s awesome.

In his post, he outlines five ways to get past your sensitivity, including valuing feedback like revenue and being grateful that someone actually gives a shit about your startup.
