Meetup made a video about Girl Develop It

It features South Jersey chapter leader Pamela Bey and the nonprofit's Philly-based executive director, Corinne Warnshuis.

It seems like just yesterday that Girl Develop It Philly was turning one.

Pamela Bey started a chapter of Girl Develop It in South Jersey to empower women, the way she herself felt empowered when she taught herself how to code.

“I was a single mom,” she said. “Your whole purpose is to make money for your kid, and teaching myself tech gave me the self-assurance, like, ‘I can do anything.'”

Bey was featured in a video that Meetup made about Girl Develop It. The adult education outfit, led by Old City-based executive director (and former events coordinator) Corinne Warnshuis, turns five this year. (The Philly chapter turns four.)

Watch the video below. Bey and Warnshuis were interviewed at Meetup’s New York HQ.
