Embedding innovation in “People, Places and Processes” is the state of mind at the city’s Office of Innovation and Technology. That’s according to a new profile from trade mag Government Technology.
It’s all part of the plan to build an innovation infrastructure within city government — one that connects innovative people (Innovation Academy) in innovative places (Innovation Lab) investing in innovative processes (via the Innovation Fund).
Phew, that’s a lot of innovation.
The three Ps are standalone pieces of an overarching strategy, but the intersection of those principles is where we can expect to see real change in the city government’s capacity for inciting change with innovative solutions.

According to the city’s director of innovation management, Andrew Buss, this year’s innovation portfolio will include new hires (a “digital storyteller”) and a handful of educational initiatives — like a project that uses food as a platform for teaching tech to kids. More on that soon.
