Hey, Revenue Department: what’s up with the twin tax sites?

A simple Google search for paying and filing Philadelphia taxes could take you to an identical, non-functioning version of the department's website.

A Philly Reddit user recently pointed out that it seems the city’s Department of Revenue has two identical sites for filing and paying your taxes online.
One works and one doesn’t; all it takes is a simple Google search to lead you directly into a flurry of errors.
The worst part? The errors only occur on the faulty version of the site after a successful log-in.
This isn’t completely surprising, considering a few of the difficulties the city has had with the site in recent years. For example, it wasn’t even two years ago when the city was forcing us all to use Internet Explorer to file and pay taxes online. Then, when it tried to remedy the situation, the site went down the day before taxes were due (for “routine” maintenance).
So, Revenue Department: what’s up with the twin sites? And how will it affect taxpayers in the coming months?
We’ve reached out for comment. Watch this space for updates.
