Mayor Michael Nutter announced Wednesday that Tim Wisniewski, 26, will be Philadelphia’s new Chief Data Officer.
“Tim has a technology and community building background and he has been keenly focused on civic engagement and that clearly makes him a standout choice,” Nutter said in a statement.
Wisniewski is currently the city’s Director of Civic Technology. He has overseen projects including the Philly311 Mobile App and myPhillyRising.com.
Wisniewski takes over for former Chief Data Officer Mark Headd, who left city government in April. Headd, the city’s first data chief, quit over conflicts with other city departments, as we recently reported.
