This is the next cafe that will open inside NextFab Studio

This one will be a "Mexico City style diner" called Cafe Ynez, according to Foobooz, and it's a venture from NextFab Studio founder Evan Malone and his wife, Jill Weber.

Cafe L’Aube closed its doors inside NextFab Studio last August, but a new cafe is in the works.

This one will be a “Mexico City style diner” called Cafe Ynezaccording to Foobooz, and it’s a venture from NextFab Studio founder Evan Malone and his wife, Jill Weber. The couple owns South Street spots Jet Wine Bar and Rex 1516. No firm opening dates yet, according to reports.

The cafe and coworking space model is one that the University City Science Center is also trying. It’s one way to build community and create that serendipitous running-into-each-other that entrepreneurs say is important to creating a tech scene, not to mention that the Washington Avenue corridor where NextFab is located is a bit barren when it comes to coffee shops (though the nearby Kermit’s Bake Shoppe is a NextFab favorite, we’re told).
