Software company Arcweb expects $2.5M in revenue in 2014 [Startup Roundup]

A Navy Yard pharmaceutical company raises $75 million, Safeguard Scientifics leads a $16 million round for a New York company and a Wayne-based data analytics company raises $10 million in part from Los Angeles-based investors.

WHO’S GETTING FUNDED?

Iroko Pharmaceuticals, the Navy Yard-based drug company, raised $75 million for the launch of its fast-dissolving pain killer, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported.

ColdLight Solutions, a Wayne-based big data analytics SaaS company, raised $10 million, according to an SEC filing. Los Angeles-based private equity investor Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors participated in the round, SoCal Tech reported.

Point.io, the Wayne-based enterprise software company, raised $750,000, according to an SEC filing. It raised just more than $1 million last spring. Check out a Q&A with Point.io CEO Ron Rock on ZDNet.

Alliqua, the Langhorne pharma company focused on wound care, raised $6 million from North Jersey-based pharmaceutical company Celgene, according to Reuters. It also raised $1 million earlier this month.

Safeguard Scientifics led a $16 million Series C in Clifton Park, N.Y.-based enterprise software company Apprenda, according to a release.

Arcweb, the software company from Philly Startup Leaders cofounder Chris Cera, was featured in the Daily News, where Cera said that he expects $2.5 million in revenue in 2014. Cera tells us he’s searching for an office, as the 15-person company has outgrown Indy Hall.

WHO’S MAKING MOVES?

Firefly, the University City cobrowsing startup founded by Penn undergrads, just signed a six-figure contract, as First Round Capital founder Josh Kopelman tweeted yesterday. Firefly cofounder Dan Shipper is staying mum about who the contract is with and how much it’s for but said that it’s on par with the largest contracts Firefly has signed.

Nearly 80 percent of holiday shoppers will buy gifts through native mobile apps, according to research by Artisan, the Old City mobile app optimization startup. While you’re at it, check out the company’s new website.

Michael Levinson, DreamIt Ventures cofounder and Wizehive CEO, was inducted into the Philadelphia 100 Hall of Fame as a way of honoring the fact that he has led five companies to the Philadelphia 100, according to Virtual Strategy Magazine. The Philadelphia 100 is a list of fast-growing companies curated by the Philadelphia Business Journal, The Entrepreneurs’ Forum of Greater Philadelphia and Wharton’s Small Business Development Center.
