New site aims to change how students apply to high-schools

Those behind the site, including education nonprofit Philadelphia Schools Partnership, say it's an effort to streamline a complicated admissions process, but others say it feels like a move toward less school choice for families.

It’s essentially a Common App for local high schools and charter schools.

PhillySchoolAPP launched last week, offering a standard application that can be used for more than 70 District, charter and Catholic schools, the Public School Notebook reported.
