Support The Hacktory’s program to introduce artists to technology

The residency is driven by the fact that though artists are usually the most excited about learning how to use different kinds of technology, they are usually the "least able" to pay for Hacktory classes, said Hacktory director Georgia Guthrie on the Kickstarter page.

The Hacktory wants to show artists how to inject technology into their work.

The University City arts, tech and education organization plans to show artists how to use circuits, sensors, cameras and software in their work through a workshop series and artist residency program it’s calling T.E.R.A. (Tech Education and Residency for Artists) Incognita.

But first it needs $12,000. It’ll use the money to pay instructors and advisors, buy supplies and market the program.

Support the project here by Dec. 3.

Backed by the Knight Foundation’s Arts Challenge, T.E.R.A. Incognita will choose eight to ten artists to participate. The residency is driven by the fact that though artists are usually the most excited about learning how to use different kinds of technology, they are usually the “least able” to pay for Hacktory classes, said Hacktory director Georgia Guthrie on the Kickstarter page.
