WHO’S GETTING BUZZ?

In an interview about her new book on how to get hired, Curalate brand strategist Liz Madsen tells Business Week that Twitter helped her land her current job. Madsen’s not the only Curalate staffer who credits Twitter: so does market developer Ryan Werner.

Antoinette Marie Johnson, CEO of branding agency At Media, is a finalist for the Stevie Awards’ Female Entrepreneur of the Year at a company with 10 employees or less. Winners will be announced on Nov. 8.

WHO’S GETTING FUNDED?

Diffregen, a Temple startup developing a drug to fight acute myeloid leukemia, was awarded a $289,000 federal grant to further the development of its product, the Philadelphia Business Journal reported.

PluroGen Therapeutics, a Norristown-based company developing products to help the healing of burns and wounds, raised $75,000, according to an SEC filing.

Center City healthy meal delivery startup Real Food Works raised $200,000 from the city’s Startup PHL fund with First Round Capital. It was the first Startup PHL investment.

WHO’S MAKING MOVES?

Video production agency Skout Media, who’s been working with the City of Philadelphia to highlight the city’s innovation efforts, moved to its own office at Fishtown’s 2424 Studios. The agency was previously headquartered at Indy Hall.

Biomeme, the DreamIt Health graduates who offer “DNA diagnostics on your smartphone,” relocated to NextFab Studio from Venturef0rth, where DreamIt Health was headquartered.

Reminded.me, a mobile app that aims to be a digital personal assistant, launched a new feature: the calendar heat map. It lets you quickly and easily visualize how busy your month is.
