From digital archive to the stage: theatre group adapts stories from South Asian American Digital Archive

This Friday, the South Asian American Digital Archive will come to life.

Unsung Theatre Company, a student group at University of the Arts, is taking stories from the¬†Chinatown-based South Asian American Digital Archive and adapting them for the stage. Preview their work at the¬†Asian Arts Initiative‘s Family Style Open Mic hosted by Samip Mallick, executive director of the archive.

The event, which features other South Asian performers, is on Friday, Oct. 18 at 7:30 at the Asian Arts Initiative (1219 Vine Street). Admission is $5 – $10.
