Faye Anderson wants to remember the glory days of Philly’s jazz scene.
In her Philly Jazz App, users can share their memories, photos and videos to help recreate a history that Anderson said has largely disappeared due to race riots and urban renewal. The app maps the city’s jazz clubs and other notable landmarks, like John Coltrane’s home in North Philly.
A frequent hackathon participant, Anderson began the project as part of this spring’s Music Hack Day.
