At First Sight: video dating app from ‘The Bachelor’ team and Perceptual Networks

It's the first app from Perceptual Networks, the social discovery startup from HotorNot.com cofounder Jim Young and serial entrepreneur Cheyenne Ehrlich that made a lot of noise when it raised a $1 million seed round from funders like Reddit founder Alex Ohanian, PayPal cofounder Max Levchin, First Round Capital and others.
Chris Harrison, host of The Bachelor, partnered with Perceptual Networks to develop At First Sight, a video dating app.

Northern Liberties’ Perceptual Networks has teamed up with team from The Bachelor to help you fall in love. (Or, you know, whatever else it is that you might want.)

The mobile app is called At First Sight and it’s the dating app but completely video-focused. Users film themselves answering questions like “What’s the most fun thing you’ve done lately?” and can browse through other users’ videos. The hope, at least, is that it’s very “what you see is what you get.”

Download it here for iOS and Android. A web version is on its way.

Young and Ehrlich had been working with Chris Harrison, host of The Bachelor, and Mike Fleiss, creator of The Bachelor, since before Perceptual Networks was created, Ehrlich said, adding that he doesn’t expect the startup to always work with partners like it did with At First Sight.

Watch Harrison demo the app below.

The launch has received plenty of national press on outlets like Huffington Post and Mashable.
