Square Stand: Square launches credit card reader hardware at Federal Donuts

The new piece of hardware from the San Francisco-based company is meant to work with Square's sales app Square Register.

Mobile payment company Square launched a tablet stand and credit card reader at the trendy Federal Donuts late last week.

Named Square Stand, the new piece of hardware from the San Francisco-based company is meant to work with Square’s sales app Square Register. Federal Donuts is one of 13 companies around the country to pilot the stand before it goes on sale July 8 and is the only Philly company to do so.

More than 35,000 people in the greater Philly area use Square to process payments and they have facilitated over $160 million in sales, said spokeswoman Faryl Ury.
