Brooklyn Flea, the popular New York City flea market series, is expanding to Philadelphia. The first event will be held on June 2 at the Piazza in Northern Liberties.

Cofounded by Jonathan Butler, the flea market is not Butler’s first venture into our city. He also runs Brownstoner, a Brooklyn real estate blog, that had an eight-month stint in Philly. Butler shut Philly Brownstowner down because it wasn’t profitable like the original one in Brooklyn.

Is Brooklyn Flea just a flea market? Well, in some ways, yes, but like other efforts for the creative class, it’s something about the community and constituency around it.

Read more about Butler’s plans in this Q&A on the Philly Post.
