Take a sound tour through Rittenhouse Square with a new mobile app from local musician and sound designer Michael Kiley.
Download the iPhone app here for $0.99.
Called “The Empty Air” and successfully crowdfunded last fall, the app uses GPS to control what you hear as you walk through the park. Kiley created the original musical piece using sounds he recorded in the park.
This is the first app in a series of Philly “sound walks,” according to the release. Kiley hopes to create a do-it-yourself version of the app so people can create their own sound tours.
South Philly web dev shop P’unk Ave built the app with Kiley. Get a preview of the sound tour below.
