After more than seven months of development, couponing app SnipSnap launched for Android yesterday. It also hit 550,000 iOS downloads, said founder Ted Mann.

The Android version is similar to the iOS version, said Mann except that the Android app also has the ability to “beam” barcodes. That means that your phone’s infrared sensor transmits the coupon barcode to laser-based scanners that can’t read barcodes off a phone, Mann said. That functionality is only available for Samsung Galaxy S4.

The SnipSnap team, which is eight full-timers right now (five at its Venturef0rth office space and three working remotely), made this Vine to celebrate.
