Determining a social media strategy for your business? Leave that to the professionals, said David Lipson, president of Philadelphia Magazine, at PeopleLinx‘s Social Business Roundtable last week at the Four Seasons Hotel.

When Philadelphia Magazine tried to deal with social media on its own, Lipson said: “We fell flat on our faces.” The company will be making an investment in its social media strategy, he said.

“You need professional guidance,” Lipson said about social media.

The message — don’t skimp on your social media strategy — was clear at the event, though it should be noted that the event was hosted by PeopleLinx, a Center City company that helps businesses with their LinkedIn presence. PeopleLinx’s clients include Prudential, Experian and Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group.
