Wayne, Pa.-based biotech company AFCell Medical raised $1 million, according to an SEC filing.

Venture capital firms NEA and General Catalyst have launched their own versions of First Round Capital‘s Dorm Room Fund for college startups at Harvard and Boston respectively, TechCrunch reported. First Round Capital was also named on this list compiled by the San Jose Mercury News of small boutique VC firms that are “turning heads.”
